About Us
Poplar Point Houseboat Rental was started by us, Larry and Liz Maxwell, for the purpose of showing people the beautiful Lac Des Mille Lacs Lake and all the amenities there are to offer. We have lived on this lake for 5 years and we have not loved life more. We want to make sure people get to experience some of the things we have been lucky to while on the lake including the beaches, fishing, watersports, and swimming.
About Lac Des Mille Lacs
We are about 100km west of Thunder Bay, 160km from the Pigeon River border crossing, and 330km from the International Falls border crossing. The lake is located near Highway 11/17, accessed through the Savanne River.

Lac Des Mille Lacs provides over 245km of fresh water to fish, swim, and experience many new adventures. The lake is fed by several inflows including the Savanne River, McKay Creek, Joe's Creek, and Inwood Creek. The lake flows into the Seine River which then flows into Rainy Lake. On the lake, you are likely to catch a glimpse of the stunning eagle and moose wildlife while you are surrounded by an abundance of natural forest.
